On the occasion of the exhibition opening of Katherine Bradford: Fear of Shoes on September 23, 2023, Kunstmuseum Schloss Derneburg is pleased to invite you to a conversation between the artist and Lisa Felicitas Mattheis, Director of Kunsthalle Emden. The artist talk will take place on Saturday, September 30, 2023, 4pm.

Bradford is best known for making luminous and dreamlike works that merge color field painting with figuration. Employing a direct and often whimsical language of composition, Bradford’s paintings depict an imagined view of the world that prompt an introspective look at the complex forces of thought and emotion that comprise the human experience. This exhibition is the first solo presentation of the American artist in Germany.
