bice lazzari: i linguaggi del suo tempo

From October 16, 2025, to January 7, 2026, Palazzo Citterio will host the first major exhibition in Italy dedicated to Bice Lazzari. A selection of 110 works retraces over forty years in the career of an artist who spanned the entire twentieth century, leaving a profound and unmistakable mark.

Curated by Renato Miracco in collaboration with the Bice Lazzari Archive and the GNAMC – National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome, the exhibition brings together more than 110 works from Italian and international museums and collections, including Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art in Venice, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C.

The exhibition itinerary spans the artist’s entire career: from mural art to decorations for the ocean liner Raffaello, from fabric designs commissioned by Gio Ponti to the acquisitions by the National Gallery in Rome under Palma Bucarelli.

Her unmistakable style—composed of lines, rhythm, and color—reveals an intimate and consistent artistic research, capable of engaging in dialogue with both Italian and European avant-gardes.

A unique opportunity to rediscover an artist who traversed the entire twentieth century, leaving a deep and distinctive imprint through her unique, solitary, and authentic language.
