Dal mare, dialoghi con la città frontale

Teatro di Pietro Consagra, Gibellina

Curated by Andrea Cusumano, Il Teatro di Pietro Consagra—a large architectural concrete sculpture in the monumental heart of Gibellina—becomes, prior to the start of its completion (designed by Mario Cucinella and scheduled for autumn 2026), the site of an ideal dialogue between Masbedo and Adrian Paci.

Within the structure, with its Piranesian echoes, Adrian Paci’s work The Bell Tolls Upon the Waves will be installed on three large screens on the first floor, while on the upper level a monumental screen will present Resto by the duo Masbedo.

Both works, devoted to the Mediterranean as a human, political, and existential horizon, explore the relationship between sea, movement, and migration. Images and sounds will merge within the space, generating a dialogue between artistic languages and between the ethical and aesthetic visions of the two artists and that of Consagra.
