In conjunction with the exhibition Frankenthaler x Judd, which will be on view at Kunsthal KAdE from September 26, 2026, through January 3, 2027, an installation by Vivian Suter (Buenos Aires, 1949) will be exhibited.

Her work is a contemporary take on Helen Frankenthaler’s painting. She possesses the same freedom and the same intuitive approach to the canvas, but with a visual world all her own. Suter lives in the Guatemalan jungle and paints her canvases outdoors in nature. Just as with Frankenthaler, the orientation of a work is never immediately fixed. Frankenthaler painted her canvases on the floor and determined the top and bottom later. Suter does the same in her outdoor studio. Suter’s installations consist of dozens of these canvases, unstretched, hanging freely in the space or on the wall. They are labyrinthine installations that reflect the jungle in which she works.
