francesca kaufmann is happy to present Transformational grammars, a group show that juxtaposes the work of thirteen international artists.

Construction is communication. The assembling of materials becomes a process of producing declarations whereby elementary components are structured through syntactical methods in order to give form to more articulated constructions.

The selected works bring together various grammars with which each artist gives voice to a peculiar language. In these personal morphologies the structural rules move away from one another in order to reveal a chorus of arcane speech that responds to principles seemingly unknown to the spectator.

Through the infinite use of finite methods the artists construct assemblages that do not appear to adhere to a particular logic, but retreat instead to ancestral structures, foreign and, at the same time, familiar.

francesca kaufmann è lieta di presentare Transformational grammars, una mostra collettiva che mette a confronto il lavoro di tredici artisti italiani e internazionali.

Costruire è comunicare. Assemblare materiali somiglia all’atto di produrre enunciati, dove componenti elementari sono strutturati attraverso processi sintattici per formulare costruzioni articolate.

Le opere in mostra sono il risultato di una varietà di grammatiche con cui ciascun artista dà voce al proprio peculiare linguaggio. ln queste personali morfologie le regole strutturali si discostano tra loro per dare vita a un coro di lingue arcane che sembrano rispondere a principi a noi sconosciuti.

Attraverso un uso infinito di mezzi finiti gli artisti in mostra costruiscono assemblaggi che non sembrano rispondere ad alcuna logica nota ma che rimandano a strutture ancestrali, estranee e insieme familiari.
