bruno munari (1907-1998), an experimental and multifaceted artist, is one of the most interesting figures on the Italian cultural scene of the 20th century; an acknowledged protagonist in many fields, he worked as a graphic designer, industrial designer, writer, teacher and trainer. After the success in Verona, Acqui Terme is preparing to host the anthological exhibition on one of the most iconic figures of 20th century design and visual communication.
In this exhibition we have selected the most relevant themes, at least from our point of view, from Munari’s research and have built the exhibition around five themes. These ‘paths’ are like suggestions to explore Munari’s story and his being an experimental artist. In addition to the themes related to perception, the balance between rule and chance or dynamic forms, special attention has been paid to all the research developed around the use of light as a compositional medium.
